According to their project’s demands and needs, there are many “printing” options available. Still, people choose different printing facilities and techniques according to the demands and needs of their project?
There are three critical considerations to consider when deciding which printing services are best for you and your budget:
- Quantity
- Efficiency,
- Output speed
Here are the various types of printing services and their relative pros and cons:
Digital Printing Service:
Digital printing service, commonly called Inkjet Printing Service, is more cost-efficient for low-volume printing, such as a few leaflets, 100 postcards, or flyers. This inkjet printing service is also beneficial for complex paper compilations, such as instruction manuals, due to the low setup costs. A machine transfers a digital file directly to a toner-based digital press or copier in a digital printing service. The efficiency of Digital Printing Service is not yet up to par. Still, when the pace is essential, another incentive to use digital printing is the short turnaround times.
As pieces of equipment are getting advance, it is becoming better due to the advanced, high-end digital printers. The Digital or Inkjet Printing Service is used for wide format printings, such as vinyl banner printing and large posters. Two primary technologies rule the Digital printing industry:
- Inkjet
- Xerography
Offset Lithography Service:
It is, by far, the most used printing service. This kind of printing service ink is moved from metal plates to a rubber cylinder or “blanket” and then onto the paper. The vast majority of industrial printing specifications can be fulfilled using this printing process. Offset printing ventures include business cards, stationery, glossy brochures, postcards, catalogs, and small banner printing.
Offset Lithography service provides more precise, richer colors and data and lower unit costs for large volumes. Since plates must be created and ink must dry before cutting and finishing, offset printing takes a little longer than digital printing.
Desktop Printing Service:
Will you need a few hundred copies of a flyer, a few manuals, or one-off invoices? A laptop printer would suffice. When using good paper, printers in your home or office, whether laser or inkjet (using toner instead of ink), make instant copies of good content.
However, as the quantity requirements rise, the cost of ink and paper as a do-it-yourselfer will become prohibitively costly. You’ll need to find a printing facility for your project whether you want better quality, special printing effects, or promotional printing on substrates other than paper, or if you want higher quality, special printing effects, or promotional banner printing on substrates other than paper.
Other Printing Services:
Other standard printing services include printing by Gravure, Engraving, Flexography, Screen, and Thermography Printing Services:
- Rotogravure presses do printing by Gravure are used that are the fastest and largest gravures, and it is usually used for direct mail catalogs and large-scale commercial run of magazines.
- Engraving is a higher-end process that produces an etched or raised printing effect.
- Flexography is often used for printing on non-paper mediums such as plastic, metallic prints and is often used for packaging such as product labels.
- T-shirts and banners are printed using screen printing facilities.
Thermography is a lower-end process that creates an engraved or raised printing effect.
